Freaking about time too:

“Construction crews continue work on the new border wall system along the SW border near San Luis” in Arizona, the agency wrote on Twitter.

So far, more than 60 miles have been constructed “along the SW border since 2017,” and the agency is expected to “complete 450 miles by the end of 2020,” the tweet read.

The wall is located in the Yuma Sector, which is among the busiest along the southern United States.

In July, the Supreme Court ruled to allow Trump to use military funds to build sections of the wall. The money had previously been frozen by the lower courts.

By executive order, President Trump redirected previously allocated Defense Department funds to be used for the New Mexico and Arizona construction, according to The Associated Press.

The administration has awarded $2.8 billion in contracts for barriers covering 247 miles (390 kilometers), with all but 17 miles (27 kilometers) of that to replace existing barriers instead of expanding coverage.

What happens when there IS no "wall" or even the adherence to established national values and identity:

https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/09/04/eu-commissioner-demands-members-take-vulnerable-migrants-directly/
The EU Commissioner specifically mentioned Libya, a country with an estimated 500,000 or more migrants, saying in comments reported by Die Welt: “It is necessary to carry out more emergency evacuations from Libya.”

The call echoes that of migrant transport NGO captain Carola Rackete who demanded that the EU take in at least 500,000 migrants from Libya. NGO Doctors Without Borders has also made similar demands to Germany but cited a much smaller number of migrants.

EU Plots ‘Proactive Approach’ for Boosting Legal Migration to Europe https://t.co/17YV4TlscH

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) April 2, 2019

Avramopoulos said that so far, around 35,000 migrants have come to Europe from Africa as part of the EU resettlement programme in the last two years, but added: “We must not become complacent. Relocations should become the most important way to join the European Union for those in need of protection.”

“We must make resettling a priority if we want to support partner countries that have taken in refugees. However, this is also important in order to provide refugees who want to travel to Europe in safe ways so that they no longer have to resort to dangerous and illegal sea and land routes,” he added.

Not everyone in the EU agrees that the political bloc should open up to further migration. Over the weekend, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó stated: “The safety of the people of Europe is paramount, migration must be kept outside Europe.”

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) July 27, 2019

His comments came in reaction to the mass stabbing attack over the weekend in the French city of Lyon by an Afghan asylum seeker that left one person dead and another nine wounded.

“It cannot be part of the European way of life to be afraid of our lives at a bus stop, a street fair, or a concert because there are people who live here in Europe but want to destroy us,” Szijjártó said.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/in-san-diego-as-the-wall-goes-up-border-apprehensions-are-going-down

As part of President Trump’s campaign promise to build a wall along the southern border, 14 miles of 18-foot primary steel bollard fencing has been built in San Diego, with a secondary 30-foot steel bollard barrier behind that which is approximately 80 percent complete.

They replace the eight-foot landing mats, which was often supported by a steel mesh behind that. The difference is dramatic.

“It's incredibly different...I’m able to see the old landing mat right next to the bollard and I'm able to see the old mesh right next to the new bollard and the difference is startling,” Douglas Harrison, Chief Patrol Agent of U.S. Border Patrol’s San Diego Sector, told Fox News.

He makes it clear that it’s not a barrier that can be easily scaled: “It’s an intimidating barrier. I'm an old Army guy, I was in the 101st Airborne and I would not try to cross that.”

Oh FUCK YES!

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/10/25/20932577/trump-administration-fee-waiver-low-income-green-card-citizenship-uscis

The Trump administration just threw another obstacle at low-income immigrants by narrowing who can qualify for waivers of expensive fees associated with their applications for green cards, US citizenship, work permits, and dozens of other benefits.

US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Friday that, starting December 2, it will no longer consider use of certain public benefits in determining whether an immigrant is eligible for a fee waiver.

That means that fewer immigrants will be able to afford to pay the hefty fees for citizenship applications and green cards — which are typically $1,225 and $725 respectively — especially if they want to apply on behalf of multiple family members.

Legal aid groups say it could affect tens of thousands, or up to two-thirds, of applicants annually who seek fee waivers.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/there-will-be-a-wall-cam-white-house-to-livestream-border-wall-construction

Quote
The White House is planning to livestream construction of President Trump’s border wall beginning next year to boost support for the barrier.

“There will be a wall cam, and it’ll launch early next year,” a senior White House official told the Washington Post.

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, a White House adviser, pitched the idea during meetings in July as a way to defend the president against criticism that he has failed to deliver on his 2016 campaign promise. The wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is behind schedule, and the Trump administration still needs to acquire miles of privately owned land in Texas where barriers are planned to be built.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and senior U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials have opposed the livestream idea, telling Kushner that contractors building the wall worry their proprietary techniques will be exposed to competitors. The officials also worried the cameras would show U.S. work crews violating Mexican sovereignty because they sometimes cross the border with their vehicles and heavy equipment.

Kushner has pushed for the cameras regardless of opposition.

YALE SHOCKER: 29.5 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, 3X HIGHER THAN CENSUS NUMBER
By Paul Bedard | The Washington Examiner

The illegal immigrant population is as high as 29.5 million, far more than the 11 million accepted by experts and the government, according to an explosive new report from three Yale University experts.

“Our results lead us to the conclusion that the widely accepted estimate of 11.3 million undocumented immigrants in the United States is too small. Our model estimates indicate that the true number is likely to be larger, with an estimated 95 percent probability interval ranging from 16.2 to 29.5 million undocumented immigrants,” said their report published by PLOS One, an academic journal.
